Sketch Artist, 2008
Charcoal on paper, 14" x 11"
Drawing by Christina Victor
I hired four witnesses, none of whom knew me previously, to watch a brief live performance under a highway overpass in San Rafael, CA. The witnesses then worked with a police sketch artist to create a composite sketch of my face based on their memories. Unlike most police-sketch scenarios, the witnesses spoke at the same time, as a group; they contradicted each other and argued about what actually happened. I found out later that a real crime had taken place that same morning--a homicide victim was found less than a block away.
